We present a unique opportunity to enrich your PhD research in Mediterranean archaeology by participating in an exchange program between UofT and UCL. All MACS students are welcome to take part in UCL’s online seminars and working groups, with the further possibility of joining fieldwork projects. We will also select two students for a four-week exchange. This opportunity will provide funding and institutional support for a substantial period of collaborative research in London alongside UCL faculty and students.
To apply, please send a CV and a letter of intent before November 1 to
carl.knappett@utoronto.ca. The letter should state (in no more than 1000 words) how your project fits within the IDC program, how it will benefit from the exchange, and a concrete work plan for the four-week exchange period in London. The purpose must be research-related, but is flexible within that rubric. Specific goals might include working on a particular thesis question, chapter, dataset, method, or theory.
Application deadline: November 1
Starting date: you will be informed by December 1 if your application has been successful, with visits arranged for the Winter semester (i.e. between January and April 2022).
Students will arrange details of their visit with the MACS Director and
